Aimpoint vs. Eotech
Anybody knowledgeable on the pro's and con's of aimpoints vs eotechs? I've got a Springfield SOCOM 16 on the way, and I've read that their iron sights leave much to be desired and that the gun was pretty much made to be used with a red dot sight. Comments? :smokin:

Re: Aimpoint vs. Eotech
I like the EOtech. Has a wide window and the red circle helps me in rapid acquisition.
Not sure what the aimpoint does. Its probably just as credible. |
Re: Aimpoint vs. Eotech
I have an aimpoint, I love it, its extremely accurate and I can use it quickly, unfortunately I dont have any experience with the EOtech.

Re: Aimpoint vs. Eotech
Learn to use your irons in all situations FIRST...then mount the red dot of your choice...
My AR-15 has the EOTech which uses AA batteries (~400 hours continuous ON-time) and co-witnesses with the irons (recommended). I like it just fine. I would like to try an Aimpoint...but am saving my money up for a good 2nd or 3rd generation NIGHT VISION scope. |
Re: Aimpoint vs. Eotech
If you buy an M4S Aimpoint you can turn it on and leave it on for something like 6 years without having to replace the batteries. The Eotechs last approxiametly 400-600 hours. I had a hard time deciding so I bought both.

Re: Aimpoint vs. Eotech
I've tried both. I like the EOtech better, even though i've got an aimpoint on mine right now...
Disclaimer: i work for L3, but i'm not biased..... |
Re: Aimpoint vs. Eotech
If I were to buy a SOCOM 16 this is what I would want to put on it.
